Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola faced Gaza amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
Manchester Mayor Pep Guardiola received an honorary degree from the University of Manchester. He was given this honor for his contributions to the city on and off the pitch. The ceremony took place at the historic Whitworth Hall. Nazir Afzal, the prime minister of the university, presented him with an honorary doctorate.
During his acceptance speech, Guardiola confronted Gaza in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. While standing for Gaza and its people, the Manchester City manager said it was painful to see what has been unfolding in the area for the past year or so.
“What I saw in Gaza hurts so much. It hurts my whole body. And let me clarify, it’s not about ideology. It’s not about whether I’m right or you’re wrong. It’s about the love of life, the care of your neighbors.
“We can think about it. It’s not our business. But be careful. The next person is ours. The next child, aged four or five, is ours. But every morning, I wake up and see the child.
