The Prime Minister made the comments during a meeting with Deputy Mayor Ahvaz on Tuesday, underscoring his readiness to cooperate with the province on environmental issues, particularly in the areas of air pollution and water source management.
Japanese diplomats acknowledged the environmental and waste management issues facing Ahvaz and suggested that Japan’s experience in these areas could provide valuable solutions to local governments.
The envoy mentioned his meeting with the Governor of Khuzestan regarding the sister city relationship between Khuzestan and Japan, and emphasized the historical ties along the Silk Road.
The ambassador stressed that Iran is of great importance in terms of energy and oil resources.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Japanese envoy expressed hope that negotiations between Iran and the United States would be fruitful, stressing that Japanese companies would be inclined to invest in Iran once sanctions are lifted.
