Tehran’s famous composer Karen Homayonfa was awarded the title of Islamic Revolution Artist of the Year. He received the honor on Sunday night with a special award at the closing ceremony of the 11th Islamic Revolution Art Week. This is an annual festival hosted by the Art Bureau of Islamic Ideology Promotion Agency (IIDO).
He won the award for his musical album “Sayyed Al-Ummah.”
“I’ve won a lot of awards, and this is truly extraordinary,” he said he was director of Id Hohamad Medi Dadaman, director of Art Boob after accepting awards from famous filmmakers Ebrahim Hatamikia and Ahmadreza Darvish.
“Of all the candidates, many were more appropriate than me. I am grateful to the Select Committee for choosing someone as small as me for this great honor,” he said.
“My love for the people and Iran runs deep and now my work is even more challenging,” he continued.
“We live in a geography of love, expectations and hope. Throughout history, all our scholars and celebrities dream of dreaming of any country. We hope that our country’s artists are extremely talented and can quickly open the world’s cultural capital with the support of literature, music, film and civil servants.”
“It will be a great victory for us when they recognize this ancient land, the culture of the central part of the Middle East,” he concluded.
Speaking about Homayounfar, Hatamikia pointed out that the films he created share a deep connection with the music.
“To be honest, music is the wing of this flight. A master like Karen Homayonfa is a true flight maestro. He knows all the heights, and the evidence for this claim lies in the music of the films he made,” he pointed out.
Homayounfar’s music conveys a sense of mourning that evokes deep emotions, he added.
Born in 1978, Karen Homayounfar is an award-winning musician and composer who won the highest film score at Fajr Film Festival four times, and was awarded the Golden Statue for Best Music at the Iranian Cinema Celebration. In 2022, he served as one of the judges in the third season of the television competition ASR-E Jadid (New Era).
Homayounfar was selected from five candidates for the Islamic Revolution Artist of the Year, including Golestan Jafarjan, who was praised by the leader of the Islamic Revolution. Mohammad Hamzehzadeh created the book series “Tales of Derestan and Golestan.” Mohammadreza Doost Mohammadi is a portrait of martyr commander on the Resistance Front and shocking contributions to the art of resistance. and Mohammad Rasori for his timely poems during the Al Aksa storm, and at key moments on the Resistance Front.
In another part of the ceremony, Kamal Sharaf, a manga artist and fantasy from Yemen, was recognized as an international figure in the art of resistance to create nearly 500 works following Operation Al Aksa Storm, highlighting his role in Yemen’s epic artistic tales. The award was presented to Tehran’s Ambassador to Yemen, Ibrahim Mohammad al-Deirami.
After receiving the award, Al Deirami expressed his gratitude to the festival organizers and greeted fighters on the Resistance Front, sacrificing his life and remained immortal.
At this stage when the struggle has reached its peak, we are all obliged to surge against incredible forces. He said, no doubt, only God’s man can endure before disbelief.
“On behalf of Kamal Sharaf, who won this award with his immobility and his pen, I spread my gratitude. We all have to stand firm in this aspect and even retreat.
Art Week is held annually by the Art Bureau, an Islamic Ideology Promotion Organization, and commemorates the martial anniversary of documentarian Morteza Avini.
Art exhibitions, workshops and theatre music performances will be held this week.
On his final trip to the Iran-Iraq war zone in the former Iran-Iraq war zone in southwestern Iran, Avini martialed the landowners when he turned the documentary “City of the Sky” into “City of the Sky” on his last trip to the Iran-Iraq war zone in the former Iran-Iraq war zone.
