TEHRAN–The UNESCO-registered Kazan Kremlin, a historic citadel in Kazan city, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, is hosting a photo exhibition showcasing Shiraz’s historical, cultural and religious landmarks.
IRNA reported that the Iranian consulate general in Kazan announced that the collection includes works by Iranian photographers, including images of cultural and historical monuments such as the Holy Land of Hazrat Shah Cherag (AS), Hafezieh, Sadiyeh, Karim Khan Citadel, Takht-e-Jamshid (Persepolis), Pasargadae, Vakil Mosque, and Nasir al-Molk. The exhibition showcased mosques, Shiraz Bazaar and other natural and cultural landscapes of Fars province.
According to the report, the works on display introduced visitors to the rich expression of Iranian civilization and art produced in Fars province in a pictorial frame.
This cultural event was launched by the municipalities of Shiraz and Kazan, which previously signed a sister city agreement.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the Kazan Kremlin tourist complex for one month until November 20th.
Davd Mirzakhani, Consul General of Iran to Kazan, visited the exhibited works at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, he pointed out the importance of cultural cooperation between countries. He added that this kind of exhibition plays an effective role in introducing Iranian culture, history and art, and acts as a cultural bridge between countries.
He pointed out that Shiraz, as the shining pearl of Iran, is a symbol of Iranian poetry, literature and civilization, and holding such an exhibition in Kazan will help develop mutual understanding between the two countries and expand cultural and tourism cooperation.
Mr. Mirzakhani expressed his hope that the continuation of such events will pave the way for further strengthening cultural and people-to-people ties between Iran and the Republic of Tatarstan.
