Tehran – The Kermansha Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Bureau has announced the identification of 50 lesser-known villages with strong tourism potential, aiming to promote rural and nature-based tourism throughout the western Iranian province.
These villages are set to welcome travelers interested in the village’s tourism and ecotourism experience, in addition to villages targeting 14 officially designated tourism.
According to Fajaime Roshan, the state department’s tourism director, 14 designated villages, including Valmagan, Chamare, Haji, Piran, Hasin, Solkuha, Gorin and Khalir, were selected as part of the National Tourism Development Plan almost 20 years ago. Since then, major infrastructure and tourism facilities have been developed in these communities.
“In recent years, there has been a growing interest in rural areas and nature tourism,” Roshan told Isna. “The unique geography and climate of Karmanshire make it home to many villages with undeveloped tourism potential, and we are taking steps to introduce them to both national and international visitors.”
Roshan also noted that each tourist who visits and shares the experience becomes an informal ambassador for the destination. “We want to create a lasting impression that will encourage word-of-mouth promotions,” she said.
She also noted the success of several villages in the scenic Uramanat region, which have evolved into popular tourist destinations in recent years. “Local communities have seen firsthand the economic benefits of tourism,” she added.
Located in western Iran, Karmanshah is a region celebrated for its deep historical and cultural significance. Contrary to the background of the Zagros Mountains, Kermansha has been an important civilization center since ancient times.
The state boasts incredible archaeological treasures, including the monumental rock rescue of Tak e Bostan, Bisotun, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Beyond historic charm, Kermansha features breathtaking natural scenery, including the calm Sarab-e-Nilufer Springs, the dramatic Quri Qal’eh water caves and the picturesque Parisian waterfalls.
With a fusion of historical and natural wonders, Karmanshah continues to attract visitors and offers a tapestry of rich experiences that continue to highlight Iran’s diverse heritage.
