Tehran – Kermansha, western Iran, witnessed over 2.5 million visits from historical, natural, cultural and religious sites on the holiday of Nowruz 1404, which began on March 20th.
Farmani told Isna that the figure saw an increase of 16.1% from the previous year. He said out of the total visits from the state’s tourist attractions, 242,000 came from historic locations.
He also said over 308,000 tourists lived in official residence centres, informal accommodation and emergency accommodation centres during their Nowruz holidays, adding that the figures witnessed a 21.5% growth from the previous year.
He said 85.6% of the state’s accommodation centers are currently booked.
He continued to improve the quality of the services provided to Nowruz Holidaymakers, with 5,584 supervisory visits being made from the state tourist facilities.
Officials said 1,043,000 cars entered the state between March 17 and April 3, stating a 14.7% increase from the previous year.
He said 73,000 tourists and pilgrims crossed the checkpoints of Khosravi and Parviz Khan during the two-week holiday.
Kermanshah has been highly praised for its deep historical and cultural significance. Contrary to the background of the Zagros Mountains, Kermansha has been an important civilization center since ancient times.
The state boasts incredible archaeological treasures, including the monumental rock rescue of Tak e Bostan, Bisotun, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
