Tehran – The five-day event marking “World Wood Day” began on June 6th at Kermansha, a woodworking and wooden hub in western Iran.
“Iran-Mina Cultural Exchange 2025” according to Dalyush Famani, Director of Tourism, Kermansha Province.
According to Milas Aliya (CHTN), Farmani said, “We hope that this event will be held with the presence of artisans from more countries.”
Pointing to the two,000-year-old history of Iran-China ties, he said that both countries have cultural ties, apart from economic relations.
He said Iran is a country with a rich history, adding that it was the first in the world to sedate in Iran. “In addition, the most comprehensive ancient inscription is in Bisotun, Kermansha, which shows the rich history of Iran.”
Farmani emphasized that Iran is always a peaceful country. “We hope that this event will convey our message of peace and brotherhood to the Chinese people and other parts of the world.”
He also said that items created during the event will be stored and displayed at the Kermanshah Wood Museum.
Alilezabavanpur, the head of Iran’s World Wood Day organization, also said the international wood event known as “cultural exchange between Kermansha and China” will begin on Friday and run until June 10th.
He explained that nine Chinese craftsmen, accompanied by two executive elements in the field of wood and carving and seven Iranian artisans, participated in the event.
Bavandpour added that the artisans present at the event will create items themed around the cultural and historical symbols of the two countries.
Meanwhile, the cultural secretary at World Wood Day said:
Jing Lingsu added that the main concept of World Wood Day can pave lands in a cultural environment that promotes the important role of wood as a renewable and recyclable item.
She urged people to make wood particularly important and use forests and timber resources correctly.
She said that as a cultural event, the world’s wooden day festival hosts attendees from over 100 countries each year. She added that it is a great opportunity for cultural exchanges between different countries.
Ling Su said: “This event will connect people and support the environment in a unique way, contributing to a sustainable future. We hope that this event will lead to the development of cultural connections between Iran and China and become a platform for mutual learning.”
She thanked the Kelmansha people and organizers for the event for the hospitality.
