Tehran – On the afternoon of March 22, 1963, agents of the Pahlavi government stormed a crowd of students of Mourning in QOM, commemorating Martyrdom, commemorating Martyrdom, commemorating the martial teaching of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (AS), and won their full Brutals. He was injured in a silly attack.
A small group of seminaries seeking evacuation went to Imam Khomeini’s house. And they had all the rights to fear. What they witnessed was, at least, unprecedented in Iran’s modern history.
Standing in front of that scary and uneasy group, Imam Khomeini said something surprising:
“Don’t suffer or worry. Throw your fear and fear. You will follow the leader who has endured today’s disasters and tragedy. Our noble imam faced the 11th night of Asura and Muharam. In itself, in carrying out this atrocity, we prayed that this regime would reveal its true nature” (Sahifeh-ye imam, vol. 1, p. 166).
In that atmosphere of horror, hours after the full-scale, savage crackdown, these words seemed so separate from the harsh reality that they might have spoken only to calm the trembling minds of the gathering. As the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution spoke more than 60 years later:
“The day after the attack on Feiziya in 1963, when Imam Khomeini spoke to a small and terrifying group of seminarians at home after Isha’s prayer, some of us may have come up with his bold declaration: helpless against God’s command.” (From the message “Pillar and Major Seminary” on May 6, 2024)
Fifteen years have passed, from that bold prophecy on that dark and horrifying night to the dawn of victory. A year filled with the highs of 2017, the moment when the Pahlavi government saw itself at the peak of power, and neither its supporters could dream of the predictions of God’s men (and then even died from his people, but cut off from his people).
Today, in many ways, times aren’t that different. The world’s haughty powers join hands to cut off the path of the great Khomeini and erase the Islamic revolution. His legacy stands as a barrier to demonic greed. In America, despots as many as Pharaohs are in power, boasting of holding life and death in his hands, and getting closer to asserting divinity. His rabies dogs in the area continue to genocide, and on the surface, it appears that no one can stop this murder machine.
But in this age of collusion between wealth, power and fraud, the leader of the revolution has promised victory, and as he stressed in a meeting with the Pakistan Prime Minister a few days ago, he sees a bright and inevitable victory.
“We are optimistic about the future of the Islamic world” (May 25, 2024)
This courage, immobility, faith and depth of thought are the fruits of the Imam. Imams who did not assert themselves – all thoughts, words and actions were drawn from Islam, which is rooted in dynamic jurisprudence, rather than Islam, which is limited to pure purity laws, and which provides solutions for the complexities of modern life.
Thirty-six years have passed since that God’s departure, but his hostility towards him has grown. Why so merciless hatred if the Imam dies? Isn’t this the clearest evidence that his path and legacy are alive? Why do they need such merciless slander and hostility, when the Revolution wandered out of its course?
As the leader repeatedly emphasized, people held a genuine and unique place in the thoughts and actions of Imam Khomeini. Unlike secular politicians who view the masses as mere tools for power and profit, they are positions born from honest beliefs. It was this conviction that Imam declared in his first speech when he returned from exile.
“With the support of this country, I will appoint a government…”
Today, much of the predictions, decisions and actions of leaders are based on this same understanding of people and their support. People who remain unshakable in their loyalty to the Imam and the Revolution despite the most complex and brutal operations, pressures and attacks, including economic and cultural wars.
And he will endure his path 36 years after his towering historical figure was heartbreaking. The contract Ayatollah Khamenei firmly declared in 1989 remains as strong as ever.
“The path that the Imam charted for revolution, the path that we and the Iranian state have taken for ten years, is the path of Islam’s greatness and the dignity of Muslims. It is the path of defending the oppressed people all over the world. Islam will become our whole existence, our national and revolutionary identity – it is no doubt about this.”
