For the Kyrgyz people, as well as many people in Iranians and Central Asia, Knowles are the irreplaceable heritage/heritage of their ancestors, and symbolizes noble traditions and customs. It is a holiday of peace and harmony, friendship and prosperity, personifying the arrival of spring, the awakening of all living things around, and the beginning of a new stage of life.
“Nowruz” is considered one of the most valuable, important and beloved holidays for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan. On the eve of the Great Spring Holiday, it is customary to reconcile with family and friends and pray for the happiness, wealth and harvest next year. People clean up the house and fu steam the house with juniper smoke. It symbolizes the expulsion of evil spirits and sets festive dust cons (festival tables) with food from various countries.
On the night of March 20th and 21st, since ancient times in Kyrgyzstan, the main treat on the celebration table is pre-cooked, commonly known as “sumolek” from the sprouted wheat buds (barley, millet). The dish “sumolek” is rich in vitamins, microfinances and antioxidants. It is also believed that this dish gives people physical and mental strength. The process of cooking is special, with several united families taking part in it – relatives, close friends, neighbors. It helps to improve and strengthen relationships between them. While “sumolek” is being cooked, folk songs are sung overnight in the courtyard, people dance, tell legends, expressing good wishes and the best wishes.
Traditionally, on March 21st, on the Knowles holiday day in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, and in the heart of our country’s regions and districts, colorful theatrical performances and concert programs are held, accompanied by celebratory snacks, contests and sports competitions in the national games. Equestrian competition.
I would like to emphasize that Nowruz’s heritage is recognized at an international level. In 2009, UNESCO, including Nowruz on its representative list of human intangible cultural heritage, highlighted its deep cultural importance and role in strengthening mutual understanding among different people. And in 2010, the UN General Assembly declared March 21 as an international Nowruz Day, calling for its global celebration, highlighting its key themes: peace, unity and renewal.
“Nowruz” is not just a calendar date, but a living tradition filled with symbols of updates and joy. This holiday symbolizes not only the arrival of spring, but the unchanging desire of humanity for renewal, peace and prosperity.
Also, a heartfelt congratulations to the citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Iran on this wonderful holiday, Nowruz.
At the same time, we hope that the traditionally friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Iran continue to develop and strengthen!
