Fatal shooting at the Lamott settlement junction in occupied East Jerusalem (AL-QUDS) killed at least six Israeli settlers, leaving more than a dozen injured after two gunmen reportedly boarded the bus and fired fire during morning rush hour.
Israeli forces sealed roads around Jerusalem and converged on the area, marking the city’s most serious attacks since 2023.
An illegal settlement under international law, Lamot was built on occupied Palestine land just north of the Green Line, where unrelenting expansion carved communities, seized important resources, and further eroded the territorial integrity needed by a viable Palestinian state.
Israeli reports indicate that the attackers came from the west bank near Ramala.
Hamas praised the operation as a “natural response” to Israeli war in Gaza, but the Al-Kud Brigade retorted it was a “justified response” to the ongoing crimes of the occupation.
