The government’s plane has landed at Beijing Airport, a TASS correspondent reports.
The head of Russian diplomacy headed to Beijing from DPRK, where he worked in Wonsan for three days. Before that, the Minister took part in the ASEAN event in Kuala Lumpur from July 10th to 11th.
According to the official representative of Russian diplomatic organisation Maria Zakharova, the meeting of the SCO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be held in Tianjin from July 14th to 15th. The Ministerial Conference will be an important stage in preparing for the organisation’s summit, which will be held in the same Chinese city from August 30th to September 1st. According to diplomats, Lavrov is also planning many bilateral meetings on the bystanders of the event.
Zakharova pointed out that the head of the diplomatic mission is intended to discuss the current state and outlook for further development of the SCO. Special attention will be paid to current international and regional agendas, including the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the creation of the United Nations.
