TEHRAN – On Wednesday, in parallel with Iran’s Book Week, an award ceremony for Islamic revolutionary leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s book “Lady Moon” was held at Vahdat Hall in Shiraz.
The event coincided with the 21st anniversary of the literature on jihad and resistance, and was held on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Mrs. Fatemeh Zahra (SA), IRNA reported.
The book “Lady Moon” tells the life of Khanom Naz Alinejad, the wife of martyr Shir Ali Soltani from Shiraz.
In his praise, Khamenei said the work was “completely about love and faith.”
“The author illuminates these themes with eloquent language and lively style,” the instructor wrote in praise.
“The grief of this noble woman, like the stories and sufferings of other wives and mothers of our dear martyrs, deeply saddens me. I have witnessed through her tears the spiritual and sacred state of the martyrs and their mourners, just as I have seen in the biographies of other martyrs,” he said.
Lady Moon, by Sajedeh Taqizadeh, is a compelling account of the life of Khanom-Naz Alinejad, published by Benashul Publishing in Tehran. This is a story of women’s choices, sacrifice, and resilience in the face of adversity. The book unfolds in three chapters that depict her life and decisions, including her opposition to deviant groups before the Islamic Revolution and her role in transforming her family and society.
The memoir also interweaves the story of another woman from Paris, creating a connected narrative that progresses through the short stories until the two stories converge. This work vividly chronicles the life of martyr Soltani, known as the Headless Commander, who preemptively prepared his burial site. He measured the grave many times, but refused to leave the headrest. Ultimately, during the battle of Operation Fatt al-Mubin in 1982, he was martyred by a mortar shell, leaving his headless body on the battlefield.
