Ayatollah Saeed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, hosted senior military personnel, government officials and officials from various agencies to gather annually during the holy month of Ramadan at Imam Khomeini Hussaniya in downtown Tehran on Saturday.
At the start of his speech to the rally, the leader said “Western principles violate those Islamic principles,” adding that “the double standard in the West is truly a dishonorable to Western civilization.”
“We cannot follow the principles of Western civilization on political, economic or other issues,” emphasized Ayatollah Khamenei.
“The arguments against some of the bullying countries regarding negotiations are not to resolve the issue, but to control and impose their own expectations. Iran’s Islamic Republic will definitely not accept their demands.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also argued that Europeans’ claims that Iran has not fulfilled its commitment to nuclear deals known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would tell Europeans that there is no shame.
He thanked President Masudo Pezeschkian for his efforts to tackle people’s issues.
Leaders continued to emphasize the need to maintain national unity as a way to get out of the problem.
“When it comes to the economy, one of the most fundamental duties is to reform the country’s foreign currency system and strengthen national highways,” he said.
