Speaking at a ceremony where he announced his new nuclear achievements on Wednesday, Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian pointed to the directions of the leader of the Islamic Revolution on relations with the United States.
He said Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that negotiations with Washington should be indirect with dignity and public pride.
“It is unacceptable for them (the Americans) to impose sanctions on all our resources and communications and then ask us to consult where we must accept their terms. We are willing to negotiate, indirectly, with dignity and pride of our people,” the president emphasized.
“We are ready to provide the necessary assurance that we are not pursuing nuclear weapons, which has been reviewed 1,000 times.”
“He has never opposed American investment in Iran. It is their false policy that he opposes. Iran is not a country that conspires with.
The president announced that Foreign Minister Araguchi will engage in indirect negotiations with US representatives on Sunday, based on the leader’s orders. “Our position on designated issues is repeatedly emphasized by our leaders – it is clear and solid. Negotiated and by God’s grace, Iran’s dignity and honor grows day by day through unity and solidarity.”
