Speaking during this Friday prayer sermon in Tehran, Ayatollah Ahmad Katami said:
He denounced those seeking negotiations with the US on the nuclear issue, saying, “It is not logical for the US to resume direct meetings with the US as the US attacked former Iranian Quds commander, General Qassem Soleimani during negotiations and violated all international treaties.”
He further clarified that Iran will not withdraw from nuclear research and development activities and uranium enrichment programmes for peaceful purposes.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior clergy pointed to the ongoing war on Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, urging global action to starve Palestinians in enclaves.
