Tehran – Iran’s Parliament President Mohammad Bakar Karibakh declared that Palestine serves as a measure of Western hypocrisy, exposing the contradiction between Western declared values and its actions.
At the QUDS Day ceremony at Tehran University, he described Palestine as an awakened conscience of a global community facing oppressive systems that have maintained themselves through oppression, injustice and conquest of Islamic countries.
Talked to the crowd on Friday (consistent with the last Friday of Ramadan), Karibahu expressed his gratitude for the presence of Iranians and Muslims around the world at the annual QUDS Day demonstration established by Imam Khomeini, who supports the Palestinian cause.
Karibah condemns the decades of suffering of Palestinians and calls it a tragedy not only for Muslims, but for all humanity.
On October 7, 2023, the Parliament chair pointed to the Al Aksa storm operation as a pivotal moment in the 77-year history of oppression of Palestinians. Called a “fair and legitimate response” to decades of crime supported by Israel, the US and the UK, he claimed that Israel had not lasted for a week without US support, branding the hollow entities supported by foreign forces.
“The reality is that the Zionist regime is merely a killing machine serving the imperialist system and the criminal US government,” Karibahu said, highlighting Israel’s military, intelligence and political support for America. He also emphasized the historical role of Britain, saying that Britain played the role of “parents” in Israel’s creation and continued to push the original colonial agenda.
“Israel was supposed to secure US interests for the region, and today it’s a burden,” he said. He cited the reverse migration of settlers and the increasing threat of Palestinian security, which was occupied, as evidence of Israel’s decline.
The speaker praised the steady resistance of Palestine and the region, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and said he successfully repelled Israel’s progress despite heavy US support. He also praised the Resistance Fighters for launching an attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion airport, proving that Israel is not the safe fortress once claimed.
