Tech billionaire Elon Musk is scheduled to visit Wisconsin today, as the state’s High Stakes Supreme Court race offers an opportunity to succumb to his growing political influence.
Mega-donors of both parties have targeted millions of people to the contest. This will determine the ideological control of the battlefield state high courts.
The race comes shortly after President Donald Trump’s important supportive role in the 2024 campaign, and is seen as a potential precursor to how voters are receiving Trump’s return to the White House.
Musk’s Visit: Musk will be attending an event that will re-name the winner of a million-dollar giveaway organized by his super PAC to reward petition signers, reiterating the controversial tactics he used in last year’s election. He and the group he has funded in the past have poured millions into the race.
Musk’s commitment to the Wisconsin contest is equivalent to a demonstration of financial firepower that can be brought to mid-term 2026.
Advertising shapes the lace. The ad for liberal candidate Judge Susan Crawford tried to link conservative candidate Judge Brad Simel to potentially unpopular policies related to the Trump administration, including Trump Wade and Musk’s raging role in the widespread federal overhaul.
Meanwhile, Simel and his supporters have leaned towards a harsh criminal message and sharp criticism of some of Crawford’s rulings.
Meanwhile, the Legal Fight: Wisconsin Democrat Attorney General Josh Cowl is suing Elon Musk’s Super PAC for the legality of his million-dollar giveaway under the state election laws.
With an interesting twist, Crawford was assigned a case in Dane County Circuit Court, but rejected himself in view of the ongoing contest.
