Tehran-martist Seyed Amirhossein Faghihi was one of the dedicated and professional scientists in the field of nuclear energy, which earned the highest honor of martism in the dangerous attacks by the nuclear Zionist regime.
Earlier on Friday, June 13th, 2025, one of the country’s most well-known scientists, Dr. Martyr, Seyed Amirhossein Faghihi, was assassinated by the Zionist regime.
He is a full professor and faculty member of the Faculty of Nuclear Engineering at Shahid Beheshti University, a pioneer in nuclear physics and peaceful nuclear technology, and was recognized as one of the few experts in radiopharmaceuticals in the country.
His scientific and research efforts played an important role in promoting the peaceful application of nuclear energy, particularly in the treatment of challenging diseases such as cancer.
Born in Shiraz in 1978, Martialist Faghihi completed his secondary education and received his bachelor’s degree in nuclear physics from Urmia University in 2000. He continued his professional path, earning his Masters in Nuclear Engineering in 2003, focusing on Energy from Amilcavill University of Technology.
A passion for science and research led him to pursue doctoral research, earning his PhD in 2008. He has established himself as one of the nation’s top specialists in this field at the same university, Nuclear Engineering (Energy Focus).
Since 2008, Mar faculty member Faghihi joined the faculty of Shahid Beheshti University, where he has made great contributions in developing nuclear talent through active participation in science publications, graduate supervision and research projects in his long-standing academic services. His tireless efforts led him to the rank of a full professor of nuclear physics in 2016.
In academic circles he was known as a hardworking, dedicated and meticulous professor who always prioritized national interests and scientific development.

Beyond academia, Martyr Faghihi played an influential and administrative role. He served as a deputy of Iran’s atomic energy organization and head of the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, where he played an effective role in shaping the national science policy.
At Shahid Beheshti University, he held important roles such as Director of Teacher Affairs, Secretary of the Executive Recruitment Committee, and Secretary of the University Accreditation Committee. These roles reflect the high level of trust placed in his management and professional abilities.

One of Dr. Faghihi’s most important specialties was the research and development of radiopharmaceuticals. This is an advanced nuclear technology product, especially used in cancer treatments. His role in localizing and expanding this technology within Iran has greatly strengthened the country’s scientific status.

Martyr faghihi’s mother described her son’s ethical, scientific and spiritual characteristics, saying, “He was not a man of showmanship, but often hid his responsibility from us.”
She emphasized his deep humility and added: “One of his most prominent features was his strict avoidance of self-promotion or boasting about his scientific and administrative activities. Until his final breath, he never spoke about his position or responsibility in the nuclear field.
She emphasized that Dr. Faghihi avoided constantly getting into the spotlight. “I never heard him talk about his important role, and the title “Doctor” that many attributed to him made me uncomfortable.
She added: “He repeatedly rejected invitations from various countries offering residencies and full welfare packages, including housing, vehicles, high pay.

His sister said: “My brother believed that gaining knowledge and serving people was valuable only when it was performed in good faith for God’s joy without any expectations or demand. This belief shaped his thoughts and actions and was evident in every aspect of his life.”
She said: “In a friendly gathering with family, Faghihi avoided discussing work or political issues and never involved us in the details of his responsibility. Even many close friends were unaware of his height in science and technology.

She recounted her lasting memories. “If I asked him if he regretted not moving to Iran and staying there, his answer was unforgettable. This response showed his deep vision of his mission and compared it to the path of Aal Al Beit (there are peace in them).”
