TEHRAN – The vice-science minister who follows the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists during the Israeli attacks detailed the scientists’ main activities, highlighting their work towards scientific and sustainable development, peaceful technology.
The assassinated scientists have made great strides in promoting the country’s progress, scientific independence, sustainable development and human safety, cited Payman Salehi as saying.
While it emphasizes that assassination of scientists is the same as destruction in the future, the formula highlights that nuclear scientists are being mistreated.
Israeli airstrikes on Iran began without warning early Friday morning, targeting civilians, scientists, military commanders and rescuers.
According to the report, from 1996 to 2025, martyr scientists at Shahid Beheshti University published 555 articles in internationally recognized, well-reputed, and shocking scientific journals.
Amir-Hossein Feqhi, Mohammad-Mehdi Tehranchi, Ahmad-Reza Zolfaqari, Abdolhamid Minoucherr, and Fereydoun Abbasi published 160, 119, 127, 123, and 113 articles, respectively.
Their articles focus primarily on radiation safety, industrial imaging, nanotechnology, peace energy, the environment, and modern functional materials. Their research focuses primarily on improving human life, and on addressing common issues in the country and around the world, Salehi said.
He noted that the frequent language of the work, including reactor safety, tomography, gamma-ray imaging, nanomaterials, radiation shields, diagnostic systems, and environmental applications, indicates the use of science for peaceful purposes.
Officials further state that more than 40% of the articles mentioned were created through international partnerships. This further emphasizes clarity and high confidence in their work. They adopted science to boost scientific interactions, promote progress and promote global health.
Iran’s nuclear program is peace
Iran consistently argues that its nuclear programme is peacefully compliant with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations. Iranian officials, including leaders of the Islamic Revolution, have repeatedly declared that the production or acquisition of nuclear weapons has no place in the country’s defense doctrine.
In the religious order, Ayatollah Khamenei named the weapon of mass destruction Haram (prohibited under Islamic law).
Nevertheless, Israel has long accused Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons and launched a number of sabotage and military operations targeting Iranian scientists and facilities. In a recent escalation, Israeli forces have directly attacked Iranian soil, citing the need to prevent peaceful nuclear advances in Iran.
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) has reiterated its unwavering commitment to advance peaceful nuclear technology for the benefit of Iranian people despite recent hostile actions by its enemies.
In a post on the official account of social platform X, AEOI declared: “Iran is in a strong position… relying on the decisions of nuclear scientists, we will continue our path to developing peaceful nuclear technology with strength and resolution. Coronavirus attacks by the enemy are not comparable to the will of this country.”
The statement comes amidst the recent tensions and recent actions of Israeli attacks targeting Iran’s science and defense infrastructure. The AEOI emphasized that such attacks would not hinder the progress of the country or undermine scientific momentum.
The organization also praised the resilience of the Iranian people and the dedication of the country’s scientists, stressing that Iran will not retreat from its strategic goals.
On Wednesday, AEOI director Mohammad Eslami said that despite the high morale of staff at the nuclear site and recent tensions, personnel remain firmly present.
“The Iranians never gave in to pressure or coercion. Our nuclear facility colleagues are performing their duties with determination and strength,” Eslami said. “Our nation is built on pride and power, and our enemies need to understand that this path will lead them everywhere.
