Tehran – Israeli occupation regime kills and injures starved civilians at “failed” US aid distribution centres.
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched a major attack on the Palestinians as they approached a designated aid distribution site run by an American company in the Mawasi region of Rafa in the southern Gaza Strip.
Medic says at least 31 hungry Palestinian civilians have been killed and more than 200 have been injured as a result of the Israeli shooting.
The victims were gathered at what appears to be a point of humanitarian assistance, but were targeted despite desperate need for food after deliberately starving by the Israeli regime.
In response, the Gaza government’s media office condemned such aid zone, such as “trap of collective death, not humanitarian relief points.”
It allegedly represented the systematic and malicious use of aid as a weapon of war, which is used to intimidate hungry civilians and force them into exposed killing zones.”
The Media Office further emphasized that these regions are “controlled and monitored by occupying forces and politically and financially supported by both Israeli occupation and the US administration.
They also cited witness accounts, field data and international inquiries to claim that the “assistance via buffer zone” initiative is a “failed and dangerous scheme.”
According to the statement, the initiative “supports only military and security strategies of the profession, disguising humanitarian efforts while official intersections remain closed and genuine aid from neutral international bodies is blocked.”
Rafa’s so-called US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has faced strong criticism from the United Nations and various international organizations, and is dubbed the “failed” operation.
Aid groups have accused the basics of using food as a weapon in Gaza.
The mechanism lacks both the ability and experience to provide effective humanitarian assistance, prompting an increasing demand for the United Nations and other trusted organisations to resume aid distribution several months after the total Israeli lockdown on the strip.
This prolonged siege has plunged the entire population into starvation, and the urgent need for limited supplies has led to several fatal incidents over the past week.
This latest attack is the most deadly ever.
To reach these so-called aid hubs, Palestinians must pass through multiple Israeli military checkpoints.
Many people, including seniors and those suffering from the health problems of Israeli lockdown, cannot travel on foot.
In light of the massacre, the US-backed Gaza aid initiative is increasingly seen as a public relations move in Israel.
