Iranian sources confirmed with Al Mayaden that indirect talks between Rome Tehran and Washington have been postponed.
The sources added that the postponement of consultations was due to the contradictory stance adopted by the US government towards negotiations.
They said Washington is trying to change the general framework of consultations, but that framework had previously been agreed.
These Iranian sources further revealed that talks between Iran and Europe, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Friday), have also been postponed.
The Al-Mayadeen Network Reporter also reported that the Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized its red line, particularly when it comes to issues of missiles and drones and the country’s defense capabilities. Tehran is skeptical of the US’s seriousness of the talks. The postponement of the fourth round of speech means that Iran will never enter into unnecessary consultations. This shows that Iran will never allow consultations to become a platform to convey a message from the Zionist regime.
According to a source, “This is despite the fact that the first round of negotiations agreed not to raise any issues unrelated to the nuclear issue. Iran can stand up to attacks from the US, and its bases are all within Iran’s crosshairs.”
A spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry said on Thursday that indirect talks between Iran and the US, set on Saturday, have been postponed at the Omani mediator’s proposal, with the new date being announced later.
Esmaeil Baghaei told reporters on Thursday that the indirect Iranian AU fourth round, scheduled to be held in Rome on Saturday, May 3, has been postponed at the proposal of Omani Foreign Minister.
Baghaei added that the new date will be announced later.
Meanwhile, Laurence Norman, who wrote intimately in X’s post, wrote in X’s post, “It is said that #irantalks has moved to May 7th.”
Norman added, “This is likely/probably. Americans apparently wanted more time.”
Today, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, who mediated the round prior to the talks, confirmed that Axios’ report had been postponed and said in a post on his X account that “U.S. Iran Conference is rescheduling a tentatively planned US meeting on Saturday, May 3.
Earlier, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid had insisted that indirect talks between Iran and the US scheduled for Saturday and Friday’s meeting with Iran and E3 would be postponed to next week.
