Tehran, October 20 (MNA) – South Korean Ambassador to Iran Kim Jun-pyo visited Mehr News Agency and Tehran Times on Sunday, October 19, 2025, and met with Mehr Media Group CEO Mohammad Mehdi Rahmati.
The delegation, including Cultural Attaché Kim Jong-go and Deputy Mission Director Park Eun-kyung, had constructive discussions with Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Rahmati, CEO of Mere Media Group, and Mohammad Salfi, Editor-in-Chief of Tehran Times. According to a report in the Tehran Times, the talks focused on exploring avenues for mutual media cooperation with the common goal of deepening cultural and diplomatic understanding between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Iranian host expressed gratitude for the Korean Embassy’s firm commitment to its mission in Iran. This sentiment was underscored by three important acknowledgments:
*The embassy’s decision to remain in Tehran during the recent period of tension has been praised by many Iranians.
* Its active and vibrant cultural presence makes it particularly effective in engaging Iranian youth.
* Ambassador Kim’s personal diplomacy included a widely welcomed performance of a famous Iranian song that touched the hearts of many and fostered unique connections between people.
Ambassador Kim shared his impressions from his extensive travels to various provinces of Iran and expressed his deep appreciation for the country’s culture. During the productive exchange, the Ambassador and Dr. Rahmati noted the important cultural commonalities between Iran and Korea and reaffirmed their determination to strengthen bilateral relations through enhanced cultural and diplomatic cooperation.
