“Iran’s nuclear program is based on indigenous people’s knowledge and cannot be eliminated by bombing,” the diplomat told Lebanon’s Almana Television Network in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.
“Our nuclear facilities are designed in ways that make them vulnerable, and nuclear material is distributed in ways that make a critical strike difficult,” he noted.
Meanwhile, officials have identified the Islamic Republic’s defensive and deterrent capabilities as “very strong,” further denying the possibility that they lack predominance if attacked.
The statement comes after various American officials, including President Donald Trump, claimed on multiple occasions with the complete destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The claims the US has not rowed through its official statements strongly resonate with similar persistent demands on the part of the Israeli regime, the closest regional ally of Washington.
Warnings to potential invaders
However, Araguchi repeated the Islamic Republic’s clear stance on such threatening language.
“Attacks against Iran will have devastating consequences for invaders.”
“Israel took it seriously, but it’s not feared.”
Addressing the issue of Israeli blinksmanship, Araguchi said, “We take the threat of the Israeli regime seriously, but we are not afraid of them.”
Last year, the Islamic Republic carried out two major retaliatory operations against sensitive, strategic Israeli military targets across occupied Palestinian territory.
Operation True Promise I and II saw the country launch hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones towards the target with command accuracy.
Meanwhile, Tehran has repeatedly been made ready to set the third edition of such retaliation.
In addition to his remarks, Aragut highlighted the inseparable nature of the uranium enrichment activity against the country’s nuclear program, and rejected the “zero level” enrichment by other US officials, including Trump and local envoy group Steve Witkoff.
“Iran considers uranium enrichment to be one of the most important achievements of scientists and will never give up,” the Foreign Minister said.
“Enrichment is essential to meeting medical and industrial needs. Radioisotopes produced domestically help treat over 1 million patients each year,” he added.
Meanwhile, officials pointed out that at least seven scientists have highlighted how, in their dedicated efforts to advance their nuclear energy programme, the public has highlighted the sacrifices they have been on the path to strengthening peaceful nuclear know-how.
Therefore, he said the Islamic Republic “never retreats” from maintaining and promoting nuclear achievements.
“Diploitation is still a viable option.”
Nevertheless, officials did not rule out the prospect of reaching mutual understanding with the US, which has been engaged in indirect consultations through Oman since April.
“I am essentially a diplomat and my mission is to achieve peace. The diplomacy window remains open and I think there is a real possibility that we can find solutions through negotiations.”
