He made this remark in a recent interview with Press TV.
The Ambassador said that the Islamic Republic of Iran was able to shine its military power in the recent 12-day war against the Israeli regime and the United States, adding that Russia also played an effective political and diplomatic role by issuing three statements and expressing support in the Security Council.
Jalali stressed that Iran did not request the S-400 before the Israeli invasion and that other military cooperation is proceeding as planned and with secrecy.
He explained that the type of agreement Iran has with Russia is different from the agreements Russia has with Belarus and North Korea, and that Russia’s proposal for a joint defense agreement is still in its early stages.
The Iranian ambassador said that Western abuses after the Islamic Revolution and recent sanctions against Russia have deepened ties between the two countries, with both opposing unilateralism and calling for multilateralism.
Jalali stressed that Iran has always been at the negotiating table and respected the framework of cooperation with the Iranian authorities, but will not accept negotiations that lead to imposition or surrender.
He believed that global crises have common roots, saying that the excesses of international power are trapping oppressed countries.
Jalali announced that Iran regards the Syrian people as friends and brothers, and that relations with the country will be pursued in accordance with the highest decisions of the regime and in close consultation with Russia.
The Iranian ambassador said that despite historical precedent, Iran and modern Russia are forming a new framework for relations, and there is a need to build trust through public diplomacy and expanding ties between people and the private sector.
