The second ministerial meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform, together with Iranian Minister Hossein Shimai Saraf, presented a declaration highlighting AI cooperation between Islamic countries.
The declaration outlined the progress of the document to harmonize AI policies across the Islamic world, which require commitment from governments and institutions.
The final statement prioritized addressing global challenges, particularly in healthcare and medical science, and encouraged greater international coordination.
It read that concerns have been raised about the rapid development of AI and the possibility of widening the technology gap due to lack of investment.
Establishing a dynamic national innovation system was considered essential to improving productivity, the statement added.
The summit concluded with a call for broader cooperation in scientific and technological development to achieve effective governance and policy alignment, in the hopes of the participation of partner governments.
Meanwhile, Farhad Yazdandost, chairman of the International Science Centre of the Ministry of Science and Science, Ministry of Science and Technology, said the next ministerial meeting of the OIC-15 dialogue platform will be held in the Arab Muslim country of Saudi Arabia.
