TEHRAN – The 18th Mehr-e-Muharram International Photo Exhibition opened on Saturday in the city of Semnan in central Iran in the presence of provincial cultural officials.
The exhibition will run for a week and showcase works by photographers from around the world, showcasing the spirit of resistance and sacrifice that characterizes the holy month of Muharram, ISNA reported.
This exhibition aims to promote cultural exchange and understanding between nations. This exhibition is not only a celebration of Iranian culture, but also a symbol of the unity and unity of the Islamic world.
“This year, more than 5,000 works were sent to the exhibition secretariat in both the domestic and international categories,” said Maytham Khodspur, the event’s executive director.
“Artists from 10 countries submitted work to this year’s exhibition, including Iraq, Bahrain, the United Kingdom, Lebanon, India, Saudi Arabia, and an Iranian photographer living abroad,” he continued.
“In the national category, the secretariat received entries from all 31 states in the country,” he said.
“We are proud to present the work of photographers from around the world who capture the essence of the spirit of Muharram,” he added.
He announced that the judging has ended for categories such as photography, photo books, and short films, and reminded that the winners of each category will be announced and recognized at the closing ceremony scheduled for this weekend.
He also invited visual arts enthusiasts to view the selected works at the exhibition, adding that “visitors to the exhibition will not only be able to view the works, but also participate in a special section of the public award.”
The exhibit is open to the public and will run until next week. It is a testament to the enduring spirit of resistance and sacrifice that characterizes Iranian culture and its people.
