TEHRAN – The National Museum of Iran will hold a national conference on human living spaces on February 15, 2026.
The event, titled “Six-Dimensional Space: Human Living Space”, is organized by the Iranian Architectural Science Association in cooperation with several researchers and experts.
According to the organizers, the conference will cover a variety of themes, including Iranian housing and society, Iranian architecture, the relationship between housing and nature, modern lifestyles, the history of Iranian restoration, archeology and historical research related to domestic spaces, and architectural and urban regulations.
Mohammad Mansour Faramaki, senior architect and former head of the architecture faculty at Tehran University, said in a note presented for the conference that the formation of housing is shaped by environmental conditions and spatial orientation.
These orientations include the ground below, the sky above, and four fundamental points, all of which influence how homes are conceived and built in relation to their surrounding environment, he said.
Mr Faramaki said housing must be evaluated within the opportunities and constraints of its environment, noting that both direct and indirect environmental factors influence the lives of individuals and society.
The organizers emphasized that the conference aims to explore historical and contemporary aspects of Iran’s domestic space.
