Tehran – Head of the Tourism Bureau of Hormozgan Province announced that the national registered plaque designating Bahmani as a basket weave village will soon be announced, coinciding with the National Handicraft Week.
According to Miras Arya (CHTN), Mohammad Mohseni added that a presentation ceremony will be held at the NAFAS Recreation and Tourist Facilities in the village of Hormozgan province on June 11th.
Pointing to the special status of Bamani Village in the art of basket weaving, he said that the village’s registration as a national village will promote local handicrafts, attract tourists, and pave the way for the local people to improve the livelihood and cultural level.
The results, he said, are the result of the restless efforts of local artisans and artisans to preserve and promote local art.
Saying that registering cultural artifacts is a professional and professional process, Hormozgan’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Bureau has pointed out that in line with its cultural mission, it is constantly pursuing the identification of registration capabilities in various fields.
He recalled that the relevant documents for the registration of Bamani Village were sent to the expert committee in 2020 but failed to achieve the final registration because they failed to obtain the required score.
Mohseni continued to have effective measures taken, including the approval of the standard number of “Minab Mat”, the establishment of a specialized basket weave desk, the formation of mat clusters by industrial township companies, and the acquisition of the national seal of “Badil” in Bahmani Village.
He said in 2019 Bandar Renge was recognized as the National Gorabthorn City. He said 19 handicraft works from Hormozgan Province have been listed on Iran’s intangible cultural heritage list.
The skill of creating Ouds is also listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, he added.
The director of the Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts at Hormozgan said: Apart from preserving and promoting handicrafts, it plays an effective role in attracting tourists and investment, he added.
Finally, Moseni praised the support of all institutions and influential individuals on this path, including representatives of the people of East Hormozgan province of Congress, Governor Minab, Hormozgan University, Cooperatives of Bamani Village, artists and art lovers.
He expressed his hope that this success would mark the beginning of a global registration of the region’s rich arts.
