The 28th Expert Meeting of the G5 Forum was held in Tehran from February 13 to 15, 2024, with the theme of “Women and Family Health.”
G5 member states attended the meeting, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan (as an observer), and the World Health Organization.
Participants considered collaborative strategies to improve the health of women and mothers. Additionally, indicators, achievements, challenges and threats to women’s health in physical, mental and spiritual categories, as well as future approaches, were discussed, according to the Ministry of Health’s website.
Former Minister of Health Baharam Einolahi addressed the conference and said the main objective was to improve the health status of countries in the region. “Maternal health is the pillar of family health, which leads to greater health for the country. Mothers therefore play a central role in the family.”
“Mothers, who make up half of this country’s population, play an important role in the nutritional and emotional well-being of their families by maintaining healthy lifestyles.
Women’s physical, mental, cultural, emotional, and spiritual well-being improves health care. Healthy women create healthy families and, in turn, healthy societies. ”
