“Given the Islamic Republic of Iran’s geopolitical and strategic position in the region, bilateral talks will certainly have an impact,” Foreign Minister Farzaneh Sadegh said on Monday ahead of the second China-Europe Rail Connectivity Forum in the Chinese capital Beijing.
She stressed that Iran has the potential to become a gateway to Europe, and initial negotiations were also held to run a train on the route from Sarafs to Chesme Soraya, according to Mehr news agency.
The Minister of Roads said that the development of railway lines can definitely lead to the progress and development of the country, considering the capabilities that exist in Iran in both north-south routes and east-west transport routes, as the railway structure of many countries is connected to the development of Iran.
The second China-Europe Railway Connectivity Forum will be held on Tuesday in Xi’an, the capital of China’s Shaanxi province, with the participation of senior officials from participating countries and activists in the railway sector.
