TEHRAN – Falk Toilov, recently appointed FAO representative in Iran’s Islamic Republic, presented his qualification to the Foreign Minister of Abbas Aragut on Sunday, May 25, 2025, and officially began the transfer.
A Tajikistan citizen, Toilov brings over 20 years of extensive experience in international development and agricultural programming to his new role. His diplomatic mission in Iran marks the beginning of a new chapter in collaboration with the FAO and the country, aiming to strengthen collaboration in the areas of agricultural production and productivity, fisheries, food safety, sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, climate change mitigation and reduction.
Before being appointed to Iran, Toilov held several important positions within the FAO, including Pakistan’s deputy FAO representative and senior programme officers leading the FAO’s regional offices in Peshawar. Over the years he has managed a diverse portfolio in multiple regions, including Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation (Chechnya), Somalia, Ukraine and Pakistan.
Toirov’s appointment reaffirms its continued commitment to supporting Iran in achieving FAO’s national development priorities.
