The Trump administration has deployed another 2,000 California National Guard troops in Los Angeles, with the first 2,000 already ordered over the weekend, California Gov. Gavin Newsson announced Monday.
“I was just informed that Trump is deploying another 2,000 security forces in LA,” he said. Posted on x.
Gavin claims that the first 2,000 people were not fed food or water, and only about 300 have been deployed in the city.
“The rest is in a federal building that is sitting, unused, unauthorized,” Newsom wrote.
“This is not public safety, it’s about stroking the ego of a dangerous president,” he added. “This is reckless. It’s pointless and rude to our army.”
The revelation comes after the Trump administration deployed 2,000 security forces over the weekend to Los Angeles, followed by 2,000 security forces in Los Angeles amid protests over the migrant and customs enforcement attacks.
The administration raised tensions on Monday, ordering US forces to deploy around 700 Marines in Los Angeles to protect federal personnel and resources, further increasing the city’s military presence.
Newsom calls the development “non-American.”
“U.S. Marines have given their honor across multiple wars defending democracy,” the news posted on X.
Newsom also accused President Trump of using the National Guard “to manufacture the crisis” after the protests.
The deployment of the California State Guard’s Trump administration has prompted a lawsuit from the California Attorney General.
