Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro ratified his country’s anti-imperialist character when he spoke at the international conference “Colonialism, Neocolonialism and Western imperialism’s territories confiscation.”
The event, held in Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, attracted over 130 delegates from 57 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa.
From the Yellow House of the South American Foreign Ministry headquarters, Antonio José de Sasul, the president said that the nation not only promotes “diplomacy for peace,” but also “supports a new empire attempt to colonize America.”
In this sense, the head of state said, “I emphasized the need to fight because we have to fight in a scenario that touches us.
The president recalled the historic origins of the venue where the meeting was held, which was the headquarters of the Spanish captain. He accused the same location of “Spanish colonialism built the first block” and “establishing the initial foundation of domination” after committing genocide against the indigenous peoples.
