“The preparations in the country are very high, 100%. I’m sure no one will even consider invading this country, because they are well-versed in the outcome and know that the capabilities of the military, the paramedics and medical forces, all of our people are prepared.”
“The Islamic Republic will undoubtedly negotiate directly with the US under pressure of biggest sanctions and threats,” Aragut said, adding that Iran will not change its police unless there is a change in the opposing approach to the Iranian state.
“The policies and indictments that take place every day make us not in direct consultations, but the doors are open for indirect negotiations.”
The Foreign Minister also said in an interview on Sunday that discussions with the US would no longer be possible unless certain circumstances change as Washington awaits an invitation to talks about a new nuclear deal.
Meanwhile, Araguchi’s comments came as Tehran received a letter from US President Donald Trump, who is seeking direct consultations with Tehran to resolve the issue.
Tehran has vowed not to hold direct consultations with Washington under threat and pressure, and has warned that military action will be subject to decisive responses.
Top Iranian diplomats also note that Iran continues to negotiate indirect negotiations with Russia, China and European countries on a peaceful nuclear program.
