Following initial speculation about the possibility of using ammunition containing uranium, which was depleted in recent attacks on certain Iranian centres, previous studies have found no traces of material containing depleted uranium in the ammunition used by the Zionist regime.
Sources told Tehran-based Fars News Agency that it may have used ammunition containing uranium, which the Israeli regime has exhausted in recent attacks on Iran’s critical centres.
Sources say the initial tests conducted at the target site confirmed the detection of traces of depleted uranium. Sources said the research is continuing and the final results show reality.
Depleted uranium (DU) is a dense heavy metal, a by-product of uranium enrichment used in the production of nuclear fuel and weapons. It is less radioactive than natural uranium, but exhibits both chemical and radiological health risks. Due to its high density, the DU is used for ammunition that penetrates the armor.
International organizations repeatedly warned against the use of this type of ammunition, highlighting the ban on uranium weapons.
According to the Fars Report, military experts have analyzed the weapons used by the Zionist regime, and the final results will be published.
