North Korea demonstrated its latest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), the Hwasong Cannon 20, at a military parade in Pyongyang to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
The parade was attended by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, political and government leaders from friendly countries, representatives of foreign delegations, military veterans, and diplomats. According to the Korean Central News Agency, the parade showcased North Korea’s achievements in the field of defense, including the Cheonma-20 tank, 155mm self-propelled gun, and 600mm MLRS.
The Hwasong Cannon-20 intercontinental ballistic missile has become North Korea’s most powerful strategic nuclear weapons system. The latest weapons reflect the “foresight, firm determination, iron faith and boundless dedication” of the party, which has laid the foundation for the military industry and “wrought epoch-making miracles” in the field of defense industry to protect the dignity and peace of North Korea and its people, KCNA reported.
The parade ended with fireworks. The military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea “will shine forever” as an event that showed the world the “immortal dignity” and power of North Korea, united around the party and Kim Jong Un.
