According to NBC News, the Coast Guard under His Ma, which serves as the UK’s national maritime emergency service, is coordinating its response to reporting collisions between tankers and cargo ships off the coast of East Yorkshire, England.
It said an alarm was raised warning the agency about the incident at 9:48am local time (5:48am ET).
Coast Guard rescue helicopters were last dispatched to respond to the collision, with lifeboats from multiple regions, including Skegness, Bridlington, Maplethorpe and Cleethopes, as well as the British government’s maritime and coast guard agencies said in a media statement.
It added that Coast Guard aircraft with “fire extinguishing capabilities” and nearby ships are also being deployed.
