The Persian Gulf countries have said they have carried out “recent discussions and contacts” with the US and “relevant authorities” and “recent discussions and contacts” in Yemen, where Hooty controls, Al Jazeera reported.
“The efforts have led to a ceasefire agreement between the two parties,” he said.
“We will not in the future target others, including American ships in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Straits, ensuring freedom of navigation and smooth flow of international commercial transport,” the statement said.
Yemeni Ansarlah has not confirmed the agreement yet.
American media said Tuesday that a ceasefire was established between the US and the Yemenisanaa government as a result of negotiations between the two parties last week by Oman.
The US Secretary of Defense told Al Jazeera that the US did not take part in Israel’s strikes in Sanaa today.
Officials told Al Jazeera on Monday that the US was not involved in the strike at Hodeida that day.
