Tehran – The Niavalan Cultural and Historical Complex in Tehran hosts the “Art Exhibition with the World of Dali” which displays Salvador Dali’s artwork preserved in the treasures of the Niavalan Palace.
The exhibition features a collection of works by the famous Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dali. Honaron Line reported that it will be held to art lovers on May 17th and will be held at the Royal Palace, the complex until May 31st.
The exhibited works are selected from the treasures of the Niavalan Museum and will introduce visitors to some of the artistic heritage preserved in this historic complex.
Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) was a Spanish surrealist artist known for his technical skills, accurate draftmanship, and impressive and strange images of his work.
Dali’s artistic repertoire included painting, sculpture, film, graphic art, animation, fashion and photography in collaboration with other artists. He also wrote fiction, poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism. The main themes of his work include dreams, subconscious, religion, science, and his closest personal relationships.
The disappointment of those who appreciated his work, and the frustration of his critics, his eccentric, wealthy public actions often attracted more attention than his artwork. His public support for the Francoist regime, his commercial activities, and some of his slow work is also controversial. His life and work have had a significant influence on other surrealism, pop art, popular culture, and contemporary artists such as Damien Hearst.
The exhibition will be held as part of a programme hosted by the complex on International Museum Day and upcoming Cultural Heritage Week occasions.
This year’s International Museum Slogan (ICOM): According to the Museum for Education and Research, this year’s program at the Niavalan complex is designed to promote audience diversity, integration of new technologies, engagement between the younger generation and cultural heritage, and to promote museum literacy.
At the same time as the exhibition, a special event, titled “The Wonderful World of Me and Dali,” will be held at the Royal Palace on Thursday, in collaboration with the Bajar Ide Art Institute.
This is an educational workshop, aims to acclimate the younger generation to the concept of contemporary art through storytelling, creative learning and exhibition themes. Entry is open to all interested visitors.
During the event, the book “Where the Tree of Time Embraces the Earth,” inspired by Dali’s famous painting, “The Persistence of Memory,” is revealed.
