Tehran – Iran is participating in the 7th Suleimaniya International Book Fair in Iraq, winning over 500 titles on a variety of topics.
The Iranian Book and Literary House represents a fair country that presents titles by more than 60 Iranian publishers, the IRNA reported.
The books featured in the Iranian Pavilion include classical and contemporary literature, children and adolescents, religion, iranology, Persian education and tourism.
The fair features participation of 250 publishers and printing and distribution centres from 16 foreign countries, including Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Palestine, Denmark, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait and Morocco.
It serves as an important platform for intellectual and cultural exchange, allowing visitors to explore the latest publications in a variety of fields.
The exhibition presents over 250,000 titles across a wide range of genres, including children’s literature, education, art, politics, economics, society, history, and philosophy, among many other disciplines.
Released in 2016, the fair has grown into a major cultural platform that promotes reading and strengthens the local publishing industry, and is now considered one of Kurdistan’s leading literary gatherings with local influence.
Often called the cultural capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Suleimaniyah has a rich history of literary and intellectual contributions to Kurdish culture.
The fair will run until October 13th and will include a variety of cultural events that have contributed to authors and publishers in Iraq and abroad.
