Pakistan targeted 36 Indian sites with 300 to 400 drones overnight from Thursday to Friday, Indian military officials said the allegations denied by Islamabad.
According to Indian military official Vyomika Singh, Pakistani troops have carried out multiple violations of Indian airspace along the entire western border, with military infrastructure being the intended target.
“Along the border and control lines, drone invasions have been attempted from Leh to Sir Creek at 36 locations, about 300-400 drones,” Singh said at a press conference Friday.
She added that Indian troops have defeated the “number” of these drones. In response, she said India fired drones at four air defense sites in Pakistan.
Speaking to CNN on Friday, a source from Pakistan’s senior government strongly denied Pakistan’s launch of a drone strike against India. Sources said Pakistan has not yet used the drone while allowing heavy artillery fire across the entire line of control.
Singh also said Pakistani troops fired heavy caliber artillery and armed drones beyond the control of Kashmir (LOC), resulting in the death and injury of some Indian army personnel. She added that Pakistani troops also suffered “great losses” from the Indian retaliatory fires.
