Pakistan’s primitive Shebaz Sharif met with the Iranian foreign minister and his companion delegation on Monday in Islamabad, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
He emphasized the historical and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Iranian Islamic Republics and the importance of strengthening bilateral relations.
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Kawaja Muhammad Asif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishak Dal also attended during the meeting.
Sharif has extended his pathetic dol to the Iranian government and its people over the tragic explosion at Shahid Rajay port. He also gave a warm greeting to the leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan has made its deep historical and brotherhood with Iran very important. He reiterated Pakistan’s determination to work closely with Tehran to promote peace and stability in the region.
Abbas Araguchi has on his side a warm greeting to the Pakistan Prime Minister from the Islamic Revolution and other high-ranking Iranian authorities leaders, expressing Iran’s commitment to strengthening relations with Pakistan and playing a role in establishing peace and stability in South Asia.
Iran’s Foreign Minister also held a meeting with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari while in Islamabad.
According to a statement from the Pakistan presidential office, Zardari and Aragut discussed the expansion of Iran-Pakistan relations and security development in the region.
During the meeting, President Zardari highlighted the historical and fraternal relations between the two countries.
Araguchi arrived in Islamabad earlier in the day amid growing tensions between Pakistan and India following the fatal attacks on tourists in Pahargam, Kashmir, last month. India accused Pakistan of being involved.
Zardari expressed concern about what he described as India’s positive attitude and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy.
Araguchi advocated for stimulating control among local actors and reducing tensions in South Asia.
The two officials also discussed the ongoing war and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and denounced the atrocities and human rights abuses committed by Israeli forces both in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to relations with Pakistan, saying Tehran is eager to further strengthen bilateral relations for mutual benefit. He also emphasized the need to maximize trade between the two countries.
Aragut and Zardari further discussed the situation in Afghanistan, with Iranian diplomats highlighting the need for continued cooperation between Iran and Pakistan on regional issues.
During the daytime trip, Araguchi also held talks with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Sen. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, before holding a meeting with the Prime Minister and the President.
According to a press release from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Araguchi and Dah placed a premium on the need to continue to work closely together to increase mutual understanding.
They said they exchanged opinions on key regional and international development and reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace and stability in the region.
According to the ministry, Aragut said Iran is keen to further strengthen ties with Pakistan.
