In a meeting with Iran’s industry minister, mines and trade Mohammad Atabak, Pakistani minister said on Sunday that Iran was the crown of Islamic Umma and that the victory over the Israeli regime’s war in June was a source of pride for the whole Islamic world. All Muslims can hold their heads high, he added.
Kamal Khan also expressed optimism about the positive outcome of President Masuud Pezeshkian’s visit to Islamabad, referring to the economic ties of Iran-Pakistan. He also emphasized the importance of exploring new paths for joint trade.
He also announced Pakistan’s preparations to strengthen economic ties with Iran through structured platforms such as the Joint Economic Committee, regular trade exchanges and sector-specific delegations.
The Pakistani minister proposed organising a trade delegation, including representatives from the federal and state chambers of commerce, to promote targeted discussions on market access and regulatory issues.
He added that beyond bilateral interests, such cooperation could extend to Turkey, Central Asia, Russia and parts of the West Asia region, creating a strong and resilient economic bloc.
Atabak responded, acknowledging Pakistan’s role in strengthening bilateral trade, highlighting the eagerness of both business communities in close collaboration.
The Iranian minister supported the idea of holding a special trade day during high-level visits and proposed to thoroughly discuss Iranian business delegations in Pakistan.
The Zionist regime fought a war of aggression against Iran on June 13, attacking Iranian troops, nuclear power and residential areas for 12 days, but the US launched a military attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, Natanz, Fordau and Isfahan on June 22.
Iranian troops carried out a powerful counterattack shortly after the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force implemented 22 waves of retaliation missiles against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III, which caused significant losses to cities throughout the occupying territories.
In response to the US attack, Iranian forces fired waves of missiles at Aldead Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
The battle was suspended due to a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24th.
