According to Mehr’s news agency, Pakistan’s defense minister Khawaja Asif told the Arab media outlet that his country was standing firmly alongside friendly and neighbouring Iran during the war with Israel.
He further emphasized that ongoing conflicts in the Middle East can only be resolved by the establishment of a fully sovereign, independent Palestinian state. “The current situation in Gaza constitutes genocide and the extremist Israeli cabinet does not want to listen to the demands of the international community,” he said.
Commenting on tensions with India, the ASIF pointed out that there remains a possibility of a new military conflict, but emphasized that Pakistan is ready to respond to hostile actions. “We are not about to launch a new war in South Asia. We welcome efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful solution between the two countries. Our goal is to perpetuate peace,” he added.
Pakistan’s Secretary of Defense also warned against targeting the water sharing agreement with India, saying violations by New Delhi could rekindle the conflict.
Regarding military capabilities, the ASIF said, “We use Chinese JF-10 and JF-17 fighter jets along with American and French aircraft, but China remains a major weapons supplier.” He dismissed the allegations of China’s involvement in the conflict between Pakistan and India as unfounded and absurd.
