Foreign Minister Tahir Andrabi on Friday reiterated Pakistan’s opposition to foreign military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities and any confrontation with Tehran, as well as anti-diplomatic approaches, in his weekly press conference in Islamabad and in responses to Iranian media correspondents.
Pakistan supported the recent UN Security Council resolution on resolution 2231 and another resolution by South Korea on continuing the lifting of sanctions against Iran, it added.
Pakistan believes that confrontation and sanctions approach should not be adopted to resolve this issue, he pointed out.
In response to another question from an Iranian media correspondent about Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanshi’s visit to Islamabad last week, Andrabi said he was evaluating Iran’s role in the region.
He said the two countries also considered issues related to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
