The three-person bench of the Supreme Court, led by Presiding Judge Yahya Afridi, granted Khan’s appeal against the Lahore High Court verdict.
The court ordered the release of 72-year-old Khan if he didn’t want it in another case.
However, Khan will remain in prison after being convicted in a corruption case.
The cricketer-turned-politician faces a barrage of conflicts ranging from corruption to terrorism, which he blows away as “false.”
Several leaders and lawmakers of his Pakistani Teherek-e-Insaf Party, including opposition leaders in both houses of the Congress, have recently been convicted in similar cases.
After Khan was temporarily arrested in a corruption incident in May 2023, several military facilities, including the Army headquarters, known as the Army headquarters in the city of Rawalpindi, were attacked by protesters.
