Claudio, an Italian participant in SUMUD Humanitarian Fluid, told Mehr News that the movement represents an important act of solidarity with the Palestine.
Sardinian ships carrying humanitarian aid in Genoa, Sicily and Sardinia are joining together in Catania, he said.
Claudio added that he and several other Italians are accompanying them to help Gaza deliver aid and break the lockdown.
He announced that more ships from Italy and Tunisia will also join the fleet, bringing numbers to more than 500 people on about 40 ships.
Claudio explained that the resilience of the Palestinians motivated him to rejoin him despite his past arrests and incarceration. He emphasized that he was not afraid of Israel’s threats and was losing his job.
Claudio, who criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said that Netanyahu is a criminal with the aim of killing people.
