TEHRAN – Members of the senior Politician Bureau of Hamas have declared that Tony Blair is considered “an unwelcome figure in Palestine.”
Husam Badran warned that the initiatives related to the former British Prime Minister represent a “severe warning” for Palestinians.
Badran harshly criticized Blair’s role in the Iraq War (2003-2011) and stated, “Tony Blair has not benefited the Palestinian or the Arab world. Conversely, he should be held responsible for his crimes in the international court. He is complicit in the atrocities against Muslims and has a destructive script.”
In a statement released on Hamas’ Telegram channel, he even described Blair as “the devil’s partner.”
Badran emphasized that Hamas has not received an official ceasefire proposal through mediators. He dismissed reports spreading in Hebrew and Western media as mere speculation.
The report has emerged, citing Arab and Western sources who say the US is considering appointing Blair to lead a temporary administration in Gaza.
Badran emphasized that managing domestic affairs in Gaza and the West Bank is strictly a Palestinian issue, and that there is no region or international party to impose an administrative framework on the Palestinian people.
“Palestine people have full control over their operations…and they have both the experience and the resources needed to do so,” he said.
He also decided since December 2023 Hamas should no longer remain in the hands of resistance, and that this position is shared with other Palestinian groups and several friendly governments.
Tackling recent rumours about a potential ceasefire proposal, Budran reiterated that “to this day we have not received official plans through mediators. Everything is in circulation limited to media coverage.”
He added, “This is not the first time the US has come up with ideas and proposals through the media in conjunction with Israel. However, such reports do not remain reliable unless they are formally presented via official mediation channels.”
On Sunday, Hamas issued another statement highlighting that ceasefire negotiations were suspended after an attempt to assassinate Israel against political leaders in Qatar’s Doha on September 9th.
This comes after US President Donald Trump’s “21-Point Plan” on Gaza, which he presented to several Arab and Muslim leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly last Tuesday.
Hamas claims that the Israeli occupation regime not only ignored the mediator’s proposals, but also actively destroyed all potential opportunities for the agreement under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s orders.
On August 18, Hamas agreed to a proposal for a partial ceasefire and prisoner exchange mediated by intermediaries. However, despite plans consistent with previous initiatives by US Envoy Steve Witkoff, reportedly approved by Tel Aviv, the occupation regime never responded.
The numbers of Israeli opposition figures and the family of Israeli prisoners accused Hamas of obstructing Netanyahu of thwarting potential deals for political interests despite repeated agreements with both partial and comprehensive proposals mediated by mediators.
Domestic, Netanyahu faces multiple corruption accusations and could potentially go to prison if convicted.
Additionally, the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for arrests for accusations of war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist regime has been fighting a massacre war with Gaza with full support from the United States.
According to official Palestinian sources, the massacre regime has slaughtered more than 66,000 people so far and injured at least 168,000 people. The administration’s actions also led to hunger, starvation and spreading disease.
