Despite Israel’s plans to seize Gaza city and forcibly drive away Palestinians near the South, many Palestinians in the city have refused to leave.
Um Imran, a Palestinian from Gaza city, told Al Jazeera that Israeli forces continue to threaten them to move.
“They say they go south and go to Almawasi, but there’s no more security in the north, south, east, west. No one is safe. We’ll stay here.”
Her mother, Um Yassar, shares the same resolve.
“We will not leave Gaza city. We will live and die here. All of our memories here will not leave, even if we all die, if our children destroy our homes or die.”
Sayed Al-Zard, who currently lives in a tent in Gaza city, said, “We’ve had 10 difficulties. We have no other places to go. Come on them. We’re in camp. Where will we go? We don’t have a home. Everything is gone.
