The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas released a statement on the occasion of a prisoner exchange between the Palestinian resistance forces and the Israeli regime, announcing that the al-Qassam Brigades and resistance forces in the Gaza Strip will release 20 Israeli prisoners held by the resistance forces. This action is part of the first phase of implementation of President Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza.
The statement emphasized Hamas’ fulfillment of its obligations and emphasized the importance of the mediator’s efforts to force the enemy Zionist regime to fulfill its commitments and implement all provisions under the agreement.
It added: “The release of heroic prisoners, including those sentenced to life and long sentences who have spent decades in prison, is the result of the heroism and fortitude of our great nation and its brave resistance members in Gaza. This loyalty to the people and to the prisoners embodies a will to freedom that will not crumble in the face of the repression of the new Nazis.”
Hamas further said that despite two years of carnage and destruction in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli military were unable to secure the release of prisoners by force and were ultimately forced to surrender to terms set by the resistance.
